Daisy Ridley recently opened up about her upcoming Star Wars movie once again as she promised that her return would be a "story worth telling."

Lucasfilm officially announced last year that the actress is making her return to the franchise in a new movie that is set years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker and centers on the New Jedi Order.

The project remains in development as the script is still being worked on. There were rumors recently that it is currently on hold and filming will likely be delayed until next year.

In a recent interview, Ridley addressed her return in an upcoming Star Wars movie and explained why she decided to reprise the role of Rey Skywalker.

She promised that the new movie will be a "story worth telling" and it was the reason why she agreed to return.

"They simply asked if I wanted to do it, based on an idea, without the script being written yet. But if I hadnā€™t been convinced by the concept, the movie wouldnā€™t have been made," the actress said.

"I took a day to think about it and I told myself that I had had great times making those films. This new adventure seemed fun to me, so why say no? My thoughts on the subject are quite simple: if I didnā€™t think the story was worth telling, I wouldnā€™t have come back."

This is an exciting tease for fans as it assures them that the film will have a story worth telling at the very least, and it won't feel like a cash grab for the sake of continuing the franchise on the big screen.

They are also taking time to develop the project which suggests that they are doing the best they can to make sure that the script will be in quality before they proceed to production.

Given the lack of details yet regarding the project, it is hard to tell what they have in store for the film, but at the very least, they are still committed to making it happen despite the slow progress in its development.
