A new report suggested that Daisy Ridley's upcoming Star Wars movie has faced another delay in its production.
Last year, Lucasfilm officially announced that the actress is set to reprise her iconic role of Rey Skywalker in a new movie that is set years after the events of the sequel trilogy.
However, since then, we have not heard any significant updates regarding the development of the project aside from Ridley expressing her excitement in various interviews regarding her return to the franchise.
Daisy Ridley's New Star Wars Movie Reportedly Delays Its Filming
According to a recent scoop from insider Daniel Richtman, Ridley's upcoming Star Wars movie is currently put on hold.
The project still needs a lot more work in its script. It is likely that filming won't begin until next year.
So far, Lucasfilm has not confirmed the claims made in the report so take this with a grain of salt for now.
Considering the lack of updates that we've been hearing regarding the project, it's not surprising that the filming might have already been delayed to next year and they'll need an extended time to work on the script.
After all, considering the polarizing response to The Rise of Skywalker, Lucasfilm has to make sure that Ridley's comeback movie will have great results and a story that is worthwhile of returning to this era of the galaxy.
Despite the delay, nothing shows that the project will get canned, especially since Lucasfilm is committed to doing more Star Wars movies again and we should be hearing more details about it sometime soon once they have decided to move forward with production.
