Daisy Ridley is set to make her Star Wars return in the upcoming New Jedi Order movie that will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. She will reprise her iconic role of Rey Skywalker and the story is going to be set years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.

The project was originally intended to be the franchise's comeback movie, but the plan changed when Lucasfilm announced last week that The Mandalorian & Grogu is going to be the next Star Wars movie instead.

Despite that, the movie is still in the works with Steven Knight writing the screenplay and, despite what recent rumors have said, is also still committed to working on the project.

Now, a new report has emerged regarding the actress' Star Wars return that suggests that she will have a huge financial gain on her comeback.

According to reporter Jeff Sneider, Daisy Ridley is set to earn a massive payday for her upcoming return as Rey Skywalker in the Star Wars New Jedi Order movie.

The actress will allegedly earn around $12.5 million for starring in the movie. It is unknown yet whether she also negotiated for backend points.

So far, neither Lucasfilm nor Ridley's representatives have confirmed the claims in the report.

In comparison, when Ridley joined the franchise in The Force Awakens, she was reportedly paid around the low-six-figure range since she was a newcomer during that time.

While some fans might find the actress' reported massive payday in the upcoming movie shocking, it is not an unusual amount for an established actor who is starring in a franchise/sequel movie and reprising their iconic role.

In the case of Ridley, it will be her fourth movie in the Star Wars franchise and the sequel trilogy films, where she served as the lead in all installments, each crossed the billion-dollar mark at the box office.

If the actress reprises the role in a fifth movie or so, there is a possibility that her salary will rise again depending on the box office results of her comeback project.

Now, all eyes are on whether her co-stars in the sequel trilogy will return in the New Jedi Order movie as well.
