Recently, reports surfaced online that Disney has decided to delay the Star Wars New Jedi Order movie indefinitely following the announcement of The Mandalorian & Grogu as the next movie in the franchise.

The decision allegedly stemmed from creative differences between writer Steven Knight and Lucasfilm surrounding the script of the film with the former likely exiting the project because of the frustrations in the process.

During that time, the studio did not comment on the claims that were made in the report, but fans were worried about the fate of the project since it follows the trajectory of several shelved Star Wars movie projects in the past.

Now, a new report has set the record straight surrounding the alleged trouble that is brewing on the Star Wars project.

In a new report from Gizmodo, sources from Lucasfilm denied the rumor that the Star Wars New Jedi Order movie is being delayed indefinitely.

Knight is also still involved as a writer of the film. The studio is currently waiting for a new draft of the screenplay.

While The Mandalorian & Grogu announcement last week may have caused some confusion amongst fans regarding the fate of the New Jedi Order project, which was originally planned to be the next movie, it is still in the works at the moment.

Fans who have been concerned about the potentially doomed fate of the project have nothing to worry about anymore as Lucasfilm is still eager to make Daisy Ridley's comeback movie and continue her journey in the galaxy far, far away.

It might still take a while before we hear more official news and updates regarding the development of the project, but at the very least, we have an assurance that it is still happening.

Aside from the New Jedi Order project and The Mandalorian & Grogu, Lucasfilm is also working on the Dave Filoni MandoVerse movie and James Mangold's movie about the Dawn of the Jedi as part of the future Star Wars theatrical slate.
