Cyberpunk 2077 was arguably 2020's most anticipated video game release but it didn't quite hit the mark and it ended up being a massive disappointment. But despite its technical glitches and nagging performance issues, the folks over at CD Projekt still have something to brag about as Cyberpunk 2077 apparently had the biggest digital launch of all time.

The official stats came from SuperData's world digital games market report for December 2020. According to the said report, Cyberpunk 2077 was able to sell a whopping 10.2 million dollars worth of digital copies, with 80% of those sales coming from PC purchases.

The now-controversial video game has bested other well-known titles such as League of Legends, World of Warcraft West, Dungeon Fighter Online, Fortnite, and Roblox among others. The CD Projekt game also reportedly helped digital game sales reach $12 billion in December. Not too shabby at all considering the underwhelming response from fans since its release.

Now, while I don't think that this is something CD Projekt would be totally proud of, it still proves that Cyberpunk 2077 is a hot commodity despite all the issues gamers have been dealing with in-game. Hopefully, the game's developers will be able to turn the tide around once they release the new and improved version of the game as I've heard that the latest patch still features several problems.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release a new patch in February.
