Cut Feature Discovered for Pokemon Sun and Moon

When Pokemon: Sun and Moon first came out, many fans were hoping it would have a feature that would allow Pokemon to walk beside the player character during their journey in-game. Alas, this featured was not in the main game, but it looks like it was going to be included at one point. A hacker found some data inside the game indicating a walk-along feature was planned and later scrapped, Kotakureports.

Twitter user Kazowar found out that every Pokemon in the game has low polygon models and walking animations hidden in the code. They also have running and resting animations. It certainly looks like these animations were meant to be used in the games overworld.

Kazowar posted a video of some of these animations, which can be seen below:

User SleepyJirachi colored over the models and did mockups of what the Pokemon would have looked like walking along. Here's one below and you can see the rest here.

It's unknown why Game Freak came so far in developing this feature but didn't use it. It could be they just ran out of time. Fans are speculating that we might see the feature in the NX version of the game or in the rumored third version of Pokemon Sun and Moon, Pokemon Stars.

I'd really like to see this new feature implemented and hope we get something like it in the games soon. What about you? Would you like to see this new feature?
