Magearna Event Begins for Pokemon: Sun and Moon

The newest event for Pokemon: Sun and Moon has been announced. The event revolves around the Pokemon Magearna, which is a Steel/Fairy-type that debuted with Sun and Moon. It will be the first mythical Pokemon event for the game.

The QR Code for Magearna was released today on Pokemon.com. It should be noted that the QR Code is region locked and will only work for those in North America. The European QR Code will be coming soon.

With the QR Codes release, all that's now required to get Magearna is for Pokemon: Sun and Moon players to open the QR Code scanner on their game menu. Once that's done, players just need to point their 3DS camera at the code and hold down the A-button/R-trigger to capture it. However, players will only be able to use this code to unlock Magearna if they've already completed the Pokemon: Sun and Moon game and become Alolan Champion.

Once they've become champion and scanned the code, players will be able to get Magearna by visiting the Antique Shop at the Halu'oi City shopping mall in-game. A delivery man will give them their mythical Pokemon.

There's plenty of time to get Magearna since the QR Codes will be available until March 5, 2017.
