Ahead of the show’s Summer 23 premiere, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead announced its two main cast members, one of which is Makima’s VA from Chainsaw Man.
Viz Media revealed the series’ two main cast members via the show’s official Twitter account as the show’s upcoming premiere is hyped up even more.
From the looks of it, this series might just be one of the stand-out shows of the Summer 23 season given its interesting premise and distinct visuals.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Anime Adaptation
Zom 100 may not be as hyped up as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, which is arguably summer’s most anticipated anime. But there are a lot of reasons to be excited about it, one of which is its story.
The series follows Akira Tendo, a 24-year-old salaryman who is dissatisfied with life as he is burnt out from his soul-crushing salaryman position.
One morning, he wakes up and discovers that there’s a zombie outbreak in Tokyo.
Instead of being crushed by impending doom, Akira instead feels free for the first time in years.
Because of this, he sets out to complete the 100 items on his bucket list before he gets turned into a zombie.
Zom 100 is based on the ongoing manga of the same name that’s written by Haro Aso.
Aso is best known for works such as Alice in Borderland, a manga series that was adapted into a major Netflix hit.
This upcoming anime is also being produced by Bug Films, a relatively new anime studio. In fact, Zom 100 is the studio’s first major work.

Makima VA Joins the Zom 100 Cast
Starring as the series’ main heroine, Shizuka Mikazuki, is Tomori Kusunoki, who is perhaps best known as the voice actress of Makima in Chainsaw Man.
Kusunoki has made her name known in recent years for voicing cutesy characters such as Karen in Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online and Misha Necron in The Misfit of Demon King Academy.
Given her recent roles, Kusunoki is proving that she has a wide range.
Joining Kusunoki is Shuichiro Umeda as Akira. Umeda is a relatively new voice actor who plays Yuu Izumi in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie and Pochita in My Life as Inukai-san’s Dog.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead will premiere in July 2023. There’s no word yet on a specific release date, but it is confirmed to release on Hulu in the US.
