Crisis on Infinite Earths Will Reference Tim Burton's Batman Movies

The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths is going to be a minefield of DC continuity and fans are loving it. From Brandon Routh and Tom Welling returning as two different versions of Superman to even bringing back characters from Birds of Prey and the ‘90s Flash series, there is a lot to love here. We all know that Kevin Conroy is going to portray a version of Bruce Wayne in the series but he won't be the only version of Batman around.

Fans have discovered that Tim Burton's Batman movies - Batman and Batman Returns - will be getting referenced via a newspaper, though not much else. The paper, which can be seen here, states that Bruce Wayne is marrying Selina Kyle, implying that Michael Keaton's Batman and Michelle Pfeifer's Catwoman finally patched things up and are settling down together.

While Tim Burton's Batman movies are far from perfect, with the second one having many more flaws than the first, they are still relatively solid films and it's nice to know that Crisis will pay tribute to them. We're not expecting a Michael Keaton cameo since he's a really big star these days but it's nice to see them reference him.

Obviously, we'll be getting more DC cameos, including from heroes and villains in the current Arrowverse. This is The CW's biggest and most ambitious event so let's hope this does well.

Crisis on Infinite Earths will begin with Supergirl on December 8 and end with Legends of Tomorrow on January 14, with Arrow, The Flash, and Batwoman in between.
