After the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy rocked our socks off, fans immediately demanded two things; a Spyro HD remaster done in the same way as the N. Sane Trilogy and a Crash Team Racing remaster that would feature the Crash collection's engine. We did eventually get the first wish with the Spyro Reignited Trilogy but the lack of news for Crash Team Racing has remained a mystery to many.
Until now at least.
PlayStation Access presenter Hollie Bennett tweeted out a picture of fuzzy, orange dice, which many saw as a tease for a Crash Team Racing remake/remaster. Considering how this was heavily-requested after the success of the N. Sane Trilogy, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see the folks at Activision work on this, especially after the success of the Spyro remake/remaster.
The dice came with a paper that says "sliding into the Game Awards," implying that the CTR remaster would be revealed in the show. This would be one hell of a reveal and would make the show much more noteworthy than it already is. Since the show will probably give Red Dead Redemption 2 or God of War the Game of the Year award, so many people will be tuning in to find out.
While some fans called it a clone of Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing when it first came out, CTR was still a fantastic kart racer that had a lot of content for single and multiplayer. The fact that people just want a straight up remaster of this older title shows just how fun this game was back then, which many say is still fun now.
Fans can tune in to The Game Awards on December 6.
