Could Captain Marvel Fans' Campaign For Goose Get Them A Flerken Spinoff?

Captain Marvel might be meant as Brie Larson's introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but somehow Carol Danvers' cat Goose managed to steal the spotlight in the film. The ginger tabby became the real star of Captain Marvel, padding around on quiet feet everywhere Carol needed her and surprising Samuel L. Jackson with her Flerken tentacles during critical moments where the Kree were set to attack.

Now, fans are hoping that the fan-favorite Flerken gets its own spin-off movie. There's a lot of talk going around online with Marvel fans pitching a Goose and Nick Fury buddy cop movie and others hoping for a Goose origin story. There also a lot of tweets asking for all sorts of Goose team-ups.

Goose sure is popular. Though some of these pitches might not seem feasible, Marvel isn't against exploring Goose's backstory.

Slash Film once suggested a back story series for Goose in Disney+ during an interview with Kevin Fiege, and the Marvel Studios President actually loved the idea.

"The fun thing about introducing new characters and all these movies is suddenly going from a character that maybe you'd heard of if you'd read the books, but if you hadn't, you'd never heard of him," Feige said, "And then you see the movie, you go, ‘I want to see more of that character.' And the fact that you and other people are asking, 'When do we see more of the cat?'"

Maybe if fans rally around the idea a bit longer, we might actually get a Goose series. Maybe even a movie, who knows.

Captain Marvel is currently screening in cinemas.
