Could Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan Be The DCEU’s New Superman Now He’s Signed With WB?

Now that his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is over, Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan just might be set to suit up as the DC Extended Universe's new John Stewart, or possibly even Superman.

Black Panther's Erik Killmonger just officially signed a first look deal with Warner Brothers, making a home out of the DCEU's studio. Warner Brothers announced the news in a brand new press release (via Cosmic Book News) saying that "This powerful marriage will focus on culturally rich storytelling, representative of the global community and providing a platform for the next generation of talent to thrive."

Jordan also seems to be eager to join Warner Brothers. While we can't be certain whether this deal will entail an acting role for Jordan in the DCEU, there's been a lot of speculation going on that Warner Brothers has been considering the actor for a role in the franchise. In August last year, rumors started circulating that Jordan would be playing the DCEU's Green Lantern. The month after that, word started spreading that the actor might even be playing the burgeoning superhero franchise's new Superman after reports came out that Henry Cavill might actually set down his cape as the DCEU's Man of Steel.

While all these reports have yet to be confirmed by Warner Brothers, Jordan expresses nothing but excitement over his transfer.

"Warner Bros. is the perfect home for myself, my brilliant president of production Alana Mayo and Outlier Society," said Jordan. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for their visionary leadership and commitment to producing a broad slate of films, which gives us more range and more opportunity as producers. Most importantly, they share my passion for telling unique, creatively-fulfilling stories and giving a voice to the next generation of talent."

We can't wait to see what comes out of this new deal between the two.

The DCEU's next installment, Shazam! premieres on April 5, 2019.
