Core Set 2020 Preview Reveals Ajani, Strength of The Pride & More Cards

Wizards of the Coast

The upcoming Magic: The Gathering set Core Set 2020 will feature familiar planeswalkers like Chandra and Sorin. Today, Wizards of the Coast has revealed another Ajani Planeswalker card and it's called "Ajani, Strength of the Pride". Check it out below:

If you're familiar with the "Ajani's Pridemate" card, you'd notice that this new Planeswalker creates a token copy that replicates that creature. The first ability also helps make the Pridemates grow bigger as it gains you life but the most fascinating ability of this card is that the ultimate requires 0 loyalty. Of course, there is one condition: You have to have at least 15 more life than your starting life total. If you have a lot of creatures and/or planeswalkers, its +1 ability will gain you a significant amount of life anyway so I can see this card fit well in go-wide token strategies. A one-sided mass exile effect is pretty powerful and you just have to get to 35 or more life to activate it.

"Ajani, Strength of the Pride" is the fourth Core Set 2020 Planeswalker card revealed. Last week, IO9 revealed the three different Chandra cards. It as also confirmed that Chandra is the only planeswalker to get three rarity cards in the upcoming set.
