Code Geass Trending Because of Attack on Titan Final Chapter

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, the critically-acclaimed anime series and what I believe is the greatest anime series of all time, is now trending on social media thanks to the release of the final Attack on Titan manga chapter. Both series premiered in the latter half of the 2000s, but Attack on Titan took much longer to finish. It's easy to see the similarities between the two popular series, such as their antihero protagonists, global conflict between warring nations, with battles depending on gigiantic powerful weapons.

Ahead of Attack on Titan's final chapter release, fans on social media have been comparing the two epic anime series, with many of them comparing their endings and respective protgaonists, Eren Jaeger and Lelouch Lamperouge. Both main characters are driven by vengeance, and become powerful figures whom many considered a villain in their respective worlds, and although both of their endings feature an epic conclusion centered on their protagonists' ultimate plans, many fans would agree that ending of Code Geass is more iconic, and that Lelouch is a much more likeable protagonist.

You can check out what fans are saying about the debate between Code Geass and Attack on Titan in the tweets below:

These two anime titles are great in their own way, and although I was close to putting Attack on Titan on top of my all-time favorite anime list, I think Code Geass is still the best anime series ever made, and the fact that it's trending now says a lot about how compelling this anime series is. Hopefully, this trend would help introduce more Attack on Titan fans to Code Geass to see how their protagonists are similar and different from each other. For me, the ending of Code Geass was more satisfying than Attack on Titan's, and Lelouch is clearly a smarter protagonist than Eren's. Many fans have been critical to how Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama concluded his series, but Code Geass fans would agree that the series nailed it until the end.

Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan Chapter 39 is now available to read, wrapping up one of the greatest manga series of all time, but the editorial department of the manga recently hinted that Attack on Titan may not be over yet.
