Attack on Titan Chapter 139 was slated to release this Friday, April 9, but the chapter was surprisingly released today around the world, and creator Hajime Isayama also shared a final sketch to promote the final chapter. While this chapter may bring to an end to Eren, Mikasa, and Armin's epic story, the editorial department of the popular series has hinted that Attack on Titan may return.

Following the early release of the final chapter of Attack on Titan, Bessatsu Shonen Magazine Editorial Department has released a special statement for the readers of this longtime manga series.

"This world that did not exist until 2009 was made into words and pictures, given meaning, turned into a story, printed in the first issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and serialised for eleven years and seven months by Hajime Isayama's hands," the statement reads.

The editorial department continued: "Though this series has come to an end, these memories are sure to always warm our hearts. Thank you for reading."

However, the final line of the statement is making fans wonder about the possibility of Attack on Titan's return: "Our battle is only getting started!!"

Fans on social media are wondering what "Our battle is only getting started!!" means. As Twitter user Zetsuyakun asks: "Our battle is only getting started, means there's Attack on titan Shippuden? Or attack on human?"

This could mean anything, and some fans are hoping that it's hint for an Attack on Titan spin-off or a sequel series or a spin-offf set in the same world. The line might also be hinting at an entirely different series that has the potential to be as great as Attack on Titan, but as of now, the editorial department hasn't provided any additional details about their plans.
