CLC Sorn Called Out Over Viral TikTok Video Featuring 'Squid Game' Stars

CLC Sorn joined the popular trend on TikTok and involved Squid Game's star in her content.

TikTok users began sharing their opinions about what they would give or offer to several celebrities if they were given a chance to interact with their idols. CLC member Sorn also did a new version of it as part of her collaboration with Wishtrend's TikTok.

Since the company has skincare products to offer everyone, the K-pop idol then used the "What I'd give to Squid Game Characters" trend to promote the brand. Unfortunately, it did not sit well with fans, especially the supporters of Anupam Tripathi.

CLC Sorn Too Insensitive Toward Anupam Tripathi?

The since-deleted TikTok video featured the idol showing several products of the brand. She then displayed the products she would recommend to each Squid Game character.

However, when it was time to share her recommendation for Anupam Tripathi and his character Ali, the K-pop idol showed several products for the character. In comparison, she only showed one to two products for the other characters while offering herself to Kang Sae Byeok (Jung Ho Yeon) and Gong Yoo.

Although the video is no longer available to watch on the video-streaming site, a Twitter user uploaded a copy of it and has since been played 3.5 million times already.

Squid Game fans also expressed their disappointment toward the K-pop idol who just shamed the non-Korean star in the series.

Wishtrend Apologizes After Sorn's Issue

After the video went viral for the wrong reasons, the brand released a statement and apologized for their recent video with Sorn.

On its Twitter account, the team said they take everyone's feedback very seriously. Thus. They took down the video from their TikTok account. It also clarified that Sorn did not plan the content and that the company was the sole responsible for creating it.

Far from what people claimed, the products Sorn showed were reportedly for hydrating skin alone and did not have any brightening and whitening properties.

"We promise to be more conscious and will take more time for revisions in the process of contents production and release. Thank you," the statement continued.

Sorn nor her agency, Cube Entertainment, has addressed the recent issue yet. But her fans are now divided because of her recent shaming scandal.
