Chuck Wendig Reveals Plans For His Canceled Darth Vader Comic

Fans are still pretty bummed about how Star Wars writer Chuck Wendig was fired from Marvel as he was working on Star Wars: Shadow of Vader. That was scrapped and we soon got Star Wars: Vader - Dark Visions, which is similar to Shadow since it's an anthology series about how Darth Vader is viewed by others. After Dark Visions #3 became embroiled in controversy, Wendig decided to talk about one of the stories he was working on.

Wendig told fans on Twitter that his third issue for Shadow of Vader would have focused on a toxic fanboy who was obsessed with the Star Wars villain. This person would have presumably been a Stormtrooper or someone in The Empire and Wendig said the issue dealt with themes like toxic masculinity.

Considering how Dark Visions #3 focuses on a woman obsessed with Vader, fans have begun wondering if Marvel took Wendig's existing work and changed up a few things or this is just a coincidence ala Jim Starlin and Donny Cates' Thanos stories. It's not yet known but we'll give Dennis "Hopeless" Hallum the benefit of the doubt.

Though we'll never see Shadow of Vader, fans can check out Star Wars: Vader - Dark Visions #3 right now in comic book stores.
