Christina Ricci Plays Coy on Wednesday Season 2 Return

Who could forget Christina Ricci playing a huge role on Netflix’s Wednesday Season 1? Ricci was undoubtedly meant to be a part of the cast. Not only did she play the original Wednesday Addams back in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993), but she had also been a perfect fit in being present on the Jenna Ortega-led series.

For a recap, Ricci played the role of Marilyn Thornhill, the seemingly sweet, supportive teacher at Nevermore Academy, who was eventually revealed to be a part of the villain’s devious plan. While her ending in the series remained questionable as to whether or not audiences can still expect to see her reprise the role in Wednesday Season 2, the actress herself admits she’s open to return, should she receive a call from the crew.

“I don’t think I’m allowed to say. On my end, the door is open.” Ricci said in a recent interview with ET Online, “She was so fun to play! It’s always so fun to play a villain.”

Ricci’s inevitable return for Wednesday Season 2 will still reel in its viewers to continue the series. Her previous role of hiding in the shadows of siding with the villain could potentially turn into a better villain turn for Season 2. After all, this time, she wouldn’t need to keep her identity a secret anymore, but rather embrace the plans they’ve set out on Nevermore Academy altogether.

However, this doesn’t probably mean Ricci’s Marilyn Thornhill is going off to “greater purposes” and more like still end up serving the main stars of the show. So, arguably, the writers should identify what her role will play in the series for Wednesday Season 2. Hopefully, this time, Ortega wouldn’t have to trouble herself in changing the lines and dealing with love triangles anymore.

Wednesday Season 2 is still in development. In the meantime, you can catch up on Wednesday Season 1 available to stream on Netflix.
