Chris Rock Reportedly Mocked Controversial Oscars Altercation with Will Smith

No one can ever move on from one of the most scandalous moments in live television concerning comedian Chris Rock and critically-acclaimed actor Will Smith's slapping incident at the 94th Academy Awards. Of course, that predominantly includes Rock, who received Hollywood's most infamous slap.

According to a report from Us Weekly, during a standup show alongside Kevin Heart at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, last Sunday, Rock brought up Will Smith's contentious slap in a humorous tone.

“Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” the comedian said.

Rock later on called Smith "Suge Smith," seemingly referencing him to the imprisoned Death Row CEO Suge Knight.

"I’m not a victim, mother–ker,” before joking that he “shook that s–t off” and returned to work. “Yeah, that sh-t hurt, motherf–ker,” he added. “But I shook that sh-t off and went to work the next day … I don’t go to the hospital for a papercut.”

Back at the Oscars event, Rock did a short monologue and joked about Jada Pinkett Smith's bald hair, referencing it to the 1997 film, G.I Jane, where actress Demi Moore shaved her hair to join the military. While Smith together with the star-studded audience was seen laughing at the joke, the vibe instantly transitioned when the King Richard actor furiously stormed on stage and slapped Rock.

We all know the Oscars as a prestigious event, and attendees along with the audience streaming at home thought this was just another amusing skit. However, when Smith went back to his seat, he yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out your fucking mouth."

Later on at the event, while accepting his Oscars win as Best Actor for King Richard, Smith tearfully took his time to apologize to the Oscars and his fellow nominees for his violent behavior.

Smith then apologized to Chris Rock the day after the altercation through his Instagram account. Sadly, the slapping incident might have already affected his career, with several studios halting their projects with the actor following the controversy.

Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith recently broke her silence about the controversy, revealing her hopes for Rock and Smith's reconciliation.
