One of the many DCU projects that DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran announced as part of the franchise's first slate is the Booster Gold TV series for HBO Max. So far, the project remains in development, but the duo has described it as an "outright comedy" series that is part of the DCU.
For the past few months, a lot of fans have been petitioning for Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt to play the hero in the DCU. After all, the actor already has a great working relationship with Gunn in the MCU and perhaps they could continue their collaboration in this franchise.
So far, it remains unknown whether Pratt will end up getting cast in the series or whether DC Studios will hire a different actor instead. Fans are also curious to see whether the actor would be interested to take the role.
Speaking recently with Rolling Stone, Pratt was directly asked whether he is open to the idea of playing Booster Gold in the DCU. Fortunately, he gave an affirmative response as he seems to be game with the idea if Gunn does want to cast him in the role.
"If James thought I was right for it, then you know that would I would have to consider it," he said.
It is certainly great to hear that Pratt himself has publicly said that he is open to the idea of being part of the DCU and potentially playing the role of Booster Gold. Obviously, this is not an indication or guarantee that it will happen, but it does show us that it is a possibility depending on the vision that Gunn has for the role.
The majority of the show's plot details remain under wraps, but it will focus on Mike Carter/Booster Gold, a disgraced former football star in the 25th century who travels back in time to pose as a superhero using basic future technology. It will be part of the DCU's "Chapter One: Gods and Monsters."
