Chris Hemsworth is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's longest-tenured actors and while lasting over a decade is already a feat to behold, the fact that Thor continues to be a vital character in the billion-dollar franchise is all the more astonishing. Out of the "Original Six" Avengers, only he, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo are active in the MCU. Now, fans are wondering until when they'll be around doing their superhero thing.

Well, if you'd ask the Australian star, he thinks The God of Thunder has accomplished his entire arc in the MCU, and judging by his latest statement, it looks like he wants to move forward from Marvel much like his pals Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, Hemsworth expressed his desire to see the demise of Thor in his next appearance, hinting that he wants out of the franchise he's actively been a part of since 2011.

He explains: "Yeah, for sure. I feel like we'd probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably warrants that. I feel like it'd probably be the finale, but that's not based on anything anyone's told me or any sort of plans. You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don't know—am I at that stage? Who knows?"

If you may recall, Hemsworth previously expressed his desire to continue playing Thor for as long as Marvel Studios wants. Now, it seems like he's having a change of heart regarding his MCU tenure which isn't exactly a bad thing. I mean, if he already feels like he's fulfilled his duties as Thor and is satisfied with how his story was presented, then I guess it's okay for him to take a different route outside the Marvel realm.

Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder is available to stream on Disney+.
