Marvel Expresses Worry About Chris Hemsworth Future as Thor

Since 2011, Chris Hemsworth as Thor hasn’t only been lifting the weight of Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, but the hearts of many MCU fans as well.

His build is obviously integral to the studio, so when the actor hurt himself while shooting the new series Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, Marvel halted production to make sure the filming of Thor: Love and Thunder wouldn't suffer the consequences.

Hemsworth revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live that he broke his ankle while training for Limitless, and Marvel officials intervened, advising him to work on the show after filming Thor.

"Anyway, I started training, I blew my ankle out, and Marvel stepped in and said, ‘No. The show that might kill him, you can do that after our film.’” narrated the actor.

Hemsworth noted that the stunt for the series was pretty heavy, involving climbing to the top of a cable car using only a rope.

He said, "It was a combination of, like, the intensity of the height but also just trying to muscle my way up the rope."

But the Australian actor's difficulties grew as he gained weight after filming Thor, making it more difficult to juggle the challenge in Limitless.

“It’s about time I came to actually shoot, I was at the end of Thor, and I was Thor size, and my trainer looked at me and said, ‘You’re screwed. This is going to be the hardest thing you’ve ever done,’” recounted Hemsworth.

For the National Geographic series, Hemsworth was also tasked with surfing and swimming in Arctic waters.

It was only recently that the actor opened up about the toll he had to endure while playing Thor.

In September, Hemsworth talked about playing girthy Thor, saying, "This was particularly hard. I think because the target weight we aimed for was quite a ways above where I'd been before."

He emphasized, “It was just exhausting. I don't know, maybe I'm getting old, but things just started to hurt more.”

Limitless with Chris Hemsworth is streaming on Disney+.
