Chris Hemsworth Shares Heartfelt Appreciation to Fans for Supporting Thor's MCU Journey

In just a few more days, fans will finally witness the God of Thunder’s monumental return in Thor: Love and Thunder. Aside from Hemsworth's mighty Thor, the upcoming film will also see the triumphant returns of Thor-centric characters like the Guardians of the Galaxy crew, Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, Taika Waititi's Korg, and Natalie Portman's thrilling comeback as Jane Foster, who is set to wield Mjolnir and develop as Lady Thor. More amazingly, Christian Bale will debut in the MCU as the villainous Gorr The God Butcher, who is driven to extinguish all gods in the universe, including Thor.

In Hemsworth's latest Instagram post, he posted a featurette that compiles Thor's decade-long MCU journey. The video includes a commentary with Kevin Feige; discussing how they found Hemsworth as the perfect Thor, Hemsworth's awesome first screen test, and critically-acclaimed actress Natalie Portman praising the star. Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi and Tessa Thompson also promoted their upcoming film.

Hemsworth first debuted as the God of Thunder in 2011's Thor and returned in several major MCU projects, aside from the three standalone films. Playing the character for eleven years and having an eventful character arc, Thor still fought hard and remained as one of the three core Avengers, with Iron Man and Captain America on the side. Now that the two Avenger OGs have finally retired, Thor is set to have another adventure and is the only Avenger who got the opportunity to have a fourth solo film.

Thor is indeed still worthy and it seems that his legacy will continue in Thor: Love and Thunder. After all, fans have never gone tired of supporting the God of Thunder, thanks to Taika Waititi, who was the man behind the success of Thor: Ragnarok — the gold standard of Thor films. Waititi is undeniably the man behind the triumph of the Thor franchise, that even Hemsworth has recently unveiled that he may not even return as Thor if Waititi wouldn't helm the film.

Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere in theaters on July 8.
