Chris Hemsworth Almost Walked Out of Ghostbusters 2016

If there's anything to like about Ghostbusters (2016), it's Chris Hemsworth proving that he actually had some comedy chops. He hilariously played the role of assistant Kevin, but as it turns out, Hemsworth almost walked away from the film entirely.

Talking to Variety, Hemsworth revealed:

"The night before I was shooting, I almost pulled out… Three or four weeks prior, [director] Paul [Feig]said to me, ‘I'm going to write up the character. Don't worry.' And then I got the script and nothing had changed."

As it turns out, Hemsworth needed to do a lot of improvisation with the film, and he continued, "I was really scared walking onto that set… I had no real plan, so I was just feeding off of them, and I just felt ridiculous. So I used that."

Though Ghostbusters was a huge flop, it did make the audience aware that Hemsworth could actually be funny if he needed to be. Ever since, his portrayal of Thor has turned the character into sort of a goofball, and we also see him cracking wise in the trailers for the upcoming Men in Black: International.

For now, Ghostbusters is looking to come back to its roots and will have a reboot/sequel set to come out in 2020. We don't know if that film will ever callback to the 2016 movie, but I think everyone for now is just trying to put it all behind.

Catch Hemsworth in Men in Black: International which comes out June 14.
