While the Doctor Strange sequel recently lost its director, a slew of reports have been circulating in the past weeks with regards to the characters that'll potentially appear alongside Benedict Cumberbatch's character. Now, a new rumor suggests that the movie will be bringing back another familiar face.

According to The Illuminerdi, Chiwetel Ejiofor is reportedly set to reprise his role as Mordo in the upcoming movie. Not only will he be making an appearance, the outlet also revealed that Mordo will be one of the five "major" characters that are already set for the sequel.

Mordo was introduced in the first Doctor Strange movie as a friend-turned-enemy character. He was one of the students who looked up to the Ancient One and has been her close ally. Mordo was also a helpful companion to Strange.

Given that the first movie saw Mordo's confliction upon learning that the Ancient One drew her power from the Dark Dimension, it'll be interesting to see what he'll be up to in the Doctor Strange sequel.

Elizabeth Olsen will return as Scarlet Witch in the film. Aside from Mordo, the other characters rumored to appear are Clea, Brother Voodoo, and Namor. Marvel is yet to announce a new filmmaker that'll be directing the film, but Derrickson will be staying as the movie's executive producer.
