Charlize Theron Reacts to George Miller Recasting Furiosa for Mad Max Prequel

There is little doubt that people are already excited about the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel that will focus on a young Furiosa. But how does the original Furiosa feel about her character being recast? Charlize Theron may have confirmed that she's cool with the idea.

Theron recently shared several behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Fury Road including an awesome group selfie with the wives and a sweet picture of her son sleeping peacefully. One of the images Theron posted featured director George Miller and the caption seems to confirm her approval of the Furiosa prequel. Check it out below.

"The man, the myth, the legend. Forever grateful to you, George," Theron wrote.

It's important to point out that Miller had actually wanted to continue working with Theron in the prequel film and had considered using de-aging technology so the Fate of the Furious actress can portray Furiosa. However, they ultimately decided against it since Miller isn't confident in the technology. The filmmaker stated he is now meeting with possible actors who can take on the role of the young Furiosa.

It was previously reported that the Furiosa prequel was actually written while Miller and Theron were working on Fury Road. The director revealed that the script had been penned to help Theron and other cast members understand the backstories of their characters.

For now, it is unclear who will take over the role of Furiosa but there have been reports that Anya Taylor-Joy of The New Mutants has met with Miller. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
