Charlie Cox Finds Daredevil: Born Again Stunts ‘A Real Slog’

After Netflix’s Daredevil show cancellation in 2018, the show is set to have its reboot titled Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ in 2024 with 18 episodes starring Charlie Cox to reprise his role playing the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Without a doubt, the actor is looking forward to playing the titular character, however, with the expected intensity level of action-packed scenes, he expressed his concern on the physical challenges being heightened. Read Charlie Cox’s quote in Variety interview below:

“It’s mad. Just in terms of shooting, physically it’s going to be a real slog and that will be a challenge in and of itself, which I’m excited about. It’s such a bold move. The character being a lawyer tends quite well to that. There’s a lot of story you can tell, just outside of the superhero element.”

When asked about the difference between the Netflix and Disney+ versions of Daredevil, Cox recalls never having explored the comics version at all, instead gearing the show toward a more mature audience.

“I felt like this was a really good opportunity to put Daredevil in a world where tonally there is a lot more fun to be had, it’s a lot more lighthearted, tongue in cheek. It was a really great experiment, both for me and for the character, to see how we fit into that world.”

One of those elements is his developed love interest with Jennifer Walters in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, possibly to bring light in possible future cameos in Daredevil: Born Again. The actor continues to share his experience working with Tatiana on She-Hulk, and what could play into his upcoming show:

“It was just a question of freeing up a little bit and allowing myself as an actor to go toe-to-toe with Tatiana and make sure that Daredevil didn’t become the butt of the joke because he’s overly serious, to make sure he had his charisma, charm and wits. Whether that will play into what we do next year with Daredevil: Born Again, I don’t know, but it was certainly a fun experiment.”

Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2024.
