Daredevil's Charlie Cox Reveals He Knew Of His Character's Return to MCU Prior To Shooting

Daredevil just made his first appearance in the recent She-Hulk: Attorney At Law episode where he had the chance to meet She-Hulk herself. Prior to that, he also made his cameo in Spiderman: No Way Home to aid in Peter Parker’s public identity reveal crisis, which in turn, led MCU fans heavily anticipating to witness Daredevil or Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox) interact with a fellow (superhuman) lawyer in the present series and Marvel did not disappoint.

Much similar to how Jen has to conceal her emotions underneath when dealing with the world while also having to protect her clients, Matt wants to fight for justice not only in court but by using his heightened senses that compensate for his blindness. So to watch these two characters with common grounds meet was an interesting collaboration to see in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode 8, especially on how they would work out the dynamics between them now that they teamed up to fight a common enemy.

In an interview with CinePOP during Disney D23, Cox shared how he first learned of his cameos in other MCU films:

“I thought it was a joke or a prank. I got a message from Kevin Feige’s assistant saying, ‘Can you call us back?’ I thought it might be for a charity event on account of COVID and everyone would attend. But I was asked if I wanted to be in Spider-Man, it was crazy. I was in the garden of my house and my wife was sitting on the steps, looking at me and asking, ‘What’s going on?’ It was crazy. It’s a childhood dream, it was unbelievable.”

Marvel’s Daredevil ran for 3 seasons starting from April 2015 on Netflix until it was canceled back in November 2018. But Daredevil is set to make an appearance in the Hawkeye spinoff series Echo and also star in his own Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, set to premiere in 2024.
