Chae Jong Hyeop revealed one of the downsides of starring in a sports drama.

Chae Jong Hyeop has been steadily rising in the South Korean film and drama industry after his debut in Webtoon Hero – Tundra Show Season 2 in 2016. Under his current agency, YNK Entertainment, the actor has already landed on multiple roles in several web dramas and TV series.

Among his works include No Bad Days, Rumor, Sisyphus: The Myth, Nevertheless, and The Witch’s Diner.

He is also no longer a stranger to sport-themed drama as he already worked in Hot Stove League as a baseball pitcher named Yoo Min Ho. Although he is already familiar with the type of K-drama, Chae Jong Hyeop disclosed that he suffered a minor injury while making his new sports drama.

Chae Jong Hyeop Sustains Injury On Love All Play Set

Chae Jong Hyeop shared more details about the incident during his interview with Bazaar Korea magazine.

According to the young actor, he found doing badminton really hard that he accidentally hurt himself while filming the drama.

“You have to use muscles that you don’t typically use, and you have to repeat the same stances over and over. I even suffered a minor injury while repeatedly practicing the same steps,” he said.

Despite that, he said that doing badminton was satisfying since he felt a rush of endorphins while completing Love All Play drama.

Chae Jong Hyeop is set to play the role of Park Tae Joon, who thinks badminton is his only job. Because of that nature, the actor had to learn how to do the sports and master the moves to perfectly portray his character.

Chae Jong Hyeop Compared Two K-Dramas’ Characters

Elsewhere in the interview, he shared an idea of how hard making Love All Play was.

Chae Jong Hyeop said that playing Yoo Min Ho in Stove League was already hard since the character wanted to show off what he got. Meanwhile, the preparation process for his Love All Play role remains the hardest one.

“So I practiced everything, starting with the correct way to hold the racket. I’d seen how my senior actors prepared for ‘Stove League,’ and I made up for my shortcomings back then while preparing for this drama,” he explained.

Love All Play will be released on April 20.
