In particular, Cells at Work! Code Black focuses on Red Blood Cell AA2153 who has to learn quickly how to deliver oxygen throughout the body whilst collecting carbon dioxide despite the dangerous conditions because they fall short in staff. White Blood Cell U-1196, on the other hand, contributes to dealing with germs and viruses in life-threatening situations.

Even when they question if their task is worth it as they are undermanned and they exert more sacrifices than they should, they continue to work together with all their efforts especially when the crisis arrives to keep the body healthy.

Cells at Work! Code Black Season 1 has 13 episodes all in all and has just aired its ninth episode titled Calamity, Athlete's Foot, and Meaning of Work. Given the success of both Cells at Work! And Cells at Work! Code Black to date, it would be no surprise if the series spin-off will be given a second season.

As of the time of writing, there's one week to go before we see our beloved Red and White Blood cells in their continuous and never-ending battle between bodily irritants, viruses, and bacteria.

The spin-off series, together with the series it originated from, is just the perfect one to watch especially now in the time of a global health pandemic. This could give one more appreciation of how the body responds to viruses and bacteria, and how our bodies are tirelessly working to protect us from any sickness or health problems.
