CD Projekt Says Cyberpunk 2077 is "More Ambitious Than The Witcher"

CD Project RED, the development team behind the critically-acclaimed The Witcher series, has an ambitious goal of making another blockbuster franchise and that's the still-shrouded in mystery sci-fi game called Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in 2012 with a stunning teaser but CD Projekt hasn't revealed any major details about their upcoming project yet. Right now, the game still doesn't have a full trailer and release date but we do know that they're planning to make it bigger than The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt (which is massive). The developers also hope to make to make Cyberpunk 2077 their next big thing.

During the Pareto Securities Gaming Seminar, CEO Adam Kicinski talked about CD Projekt's plans regarding their upcoming game and where they see it going in the future.

"Cyberpunk is our new Witcher 3, but even more ambitious. Our goal is to establish a new blockbuster franchise from the beginning," Kicinski said. "We work in a new universe, futuristic universe. We believe it's very appealing to players, not only RPG players but this is a true RPG, like Witcher, like Witcher 3, for mature audiences."

I'm excited to see the big things they're planning for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt already confirmed that they have something planned for this year's E3. It could be an official reveal. Even if they don't release the game within a year or two, I'm sure it's going to be worth the wait.
