CD Projekt Red Will Work on a New The Witcher Game After Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red has been quite busy with Cyberpunk 2077, so busy in fact that they had to delay the game from its April release date to work on it more, which understandably made a number of fans sad. Still, we'd rather get a quality game late than a horribly rushed one early so we can't wait and see how this game does. Fans have been wondering about the next game from this acclaimed studio and we now know what it is; Not The Witcher 4.

Well, to be more specific, a new The Witcher game that doesn't have a proper name or release date yet. However, the game will not be called The Witcher 4.

CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński told a number of journalists (via Eurogamer) that there was already a "relatively clear concept" for the next game, which is good to know. The developers will also start working on the game once development for Cyberpunk 2077 has finished, though there will still be a number of teams working on the futuristic RPG, presumably for DLC or the multiplayer mode.

It was also stated that the next couple of games from CD Projekt Red will either be based on The Witcher or Cyberpunk 2077, so they're going to be a two IP studio for a while. That's a refreshingly honest statement, though many fans are probably worried that they might start over saturating the market with these games. Probably not in the same way Ubisoft and Activision have done for their properties but still.
