It really is full steam ahead with Marvel's upcoming Ms. Marvel series. Set to hit screens via Disney+, the House of Ideas has reportedly started casting calls for the roles of Kamala's parents Yusuf and Muneeba, and her older brother Amir. More details have yet to surface, but according to a report from DiscussingFilm, the casting calls for each character are as follows:

  • Amir Khan, the older brother of Kamala Khan, who they are eyeing to cast a Male in their 20s.
  • Muneeba Khan, the mother of Kamala Khan, who they are eyeing to cast a Female in their 40s-50s.
  • Yusuf Khan, the father of Kamala Khan, who they are eyeing to cast a Male in their 40s-50s.

As for Kamala Khan herself, the studio is eyeing to cast a Pakistani-American woman somewhere between the ages of 16 and 24. In line with this, the report further states that Marvel is also aiming to cast Pakistani-American actors for all roles (Representation matters!).

Having won a Hugo Award in 2015, Ms. Marvel is a pioneering piece of work with Kamala Khan being Marvel's first Muslim character with her own stand-alone comic. She is best known for her polymorphic abilities and her life living in a religious Pakistani-American family in New Jersey.
