Carrie Fisher Praises Rian Johnson In Star Wars: The Last Jedi BTS Video

Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have experienced overwhelming commercial and critical success during its release, but the film's also become one of the most divisive installments in the Star Wars franchise. While there has been quite a number of fans who've enjoyed The Force Awakens sequel's complexity and boldness, there are others who feel outraged by the way the film subverts fan expectations. Some have even gone as far as to petition for the film to be removed from Star Wars canon.

Despite this backlash from a very vocal minority in the Star Wars community, it seems like Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher has nothing but great things to say about the film's director, Rian Johnson.

Taken from The Director and the Jedi, the behind-the-scenes documentary of The Force Awakens sequel, the video shows Fisher talking about working together with the filmmaker on the set of The Last Jedi.

"I know what you've heard good things about Ryan, but he's very tough," Fisher confesses. "He Just has a very specific vision. And he doesn't seem like that when you meet him, doesn't have a dominating affect, but he has a dominating vision. He's really good with structuring things and story, and he's good with working with actors. So he has flaws and everything, I just don't know about them."

It's pretty interesting how Fisher has nothing but great things to say about Johnson. Though we're not quite certain whether Fisher's little talk about Rian might change people's minds, it certainly helps add points to the filmmaker's cause.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently available on Digital HD and will be made available on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 27.
