Netflix is a huge fan of adult animated shows. With the success of its latest series, many can't help but wonder if there will be a Carol and The End of The World Season 2.
And we wonder the same thing too, especially with how the show ended. Despite its title, the show did not end in that way. Does that mean there will be a second season? Find out below.
What is Carol & The End of The World Story About?
Carol & The End of The World is an adult animated series with only 10 episodes. Just like its title says, it follows its characters as they prepare for the impending doom of a post-apocalyptic catastrophe.
The limited series includes the voices of Martha Kelly as the titular character, Carol Kohl. She is joined by Kimberly Hebert Gregory as Donna, Beth Grant as Pauline, Mel Rodriguez as Luis, and Lawrence Pressman as Bernard.
Together, they all prepare as a planet hurls towards Earth. While the catastrophic event is still a few months away, Carol spends the rest of her days looking for meaning.
The series is a combination of sci-fi and comedy, which was created by Dan Guterman. He previously worked on shows of the same nature, such as Rick & Morty and Community.
Will There Be a Carol & The End of The World Season 2?
The mini-series did not end in the way that its viewers expected it to. Instead of the show ending in total chaos, Carol actually achieves her goals.
So while people Carol & The End of The World may be a limited series, the show's ending could indicate that there's room for a follow-up to the story. And given the positive reviews and ratings received by the series, there's reason to believe that a Carol and The End of The World Season 2 could be in place.
But then again, Carol & The End of The World has always been billed as a limited series, which usually means that there will only be one season of the show.
Does Carol & The End of The World Need a Second Season?
To be honest, Carol & The End of The World doesn't really need a second season. We don't think the story could have any better ending to it, after all, what are you really left to do in an impending extinction?
If Netflix does order the series to return for a second season, it could be just to satisfy the ratings of the show. But as for the story, we don't really see it needing anything added to it.
