This brings us to The Office in Carol and the End of the World. Carol comes upon a woman, one day, who seems to be headed to an office. She finds this woman unique since everyone else has turned to hedonism.
This discovery leads her to The Distraction, a company that continues to operate despite the impending doom of the apocalypse.
True enough, the office comes with the usual performance reviews and corporate jargon that its employees need to ace. But what does everyone do in the office, really?
No one actually knows. It's simply a place where they can continue their routine and not have to worry about the upcoming global extinction event.
