Now that Captain Marvel's inching closer and closer to its release date, Marvel's given the press it's first screening of the film and right after the film's conclusion critics flocked to social media to share their thoughts about the Brie Larson's debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While she might not really have meant to share a spoiler, entertainment journalist Anna Klassen takes to Twitter and opens up about the screening. According to the journalist, Captain Marvel starts with an emotional tribute to the Marvel comic book legend, Stan Lee.
"#CaptainMarvel opens with a very touching Stan Lee tribute that Marvel fans will love," Klassen tells her followers.
Sure, we might have already been expecting a Stan Lee cameo in Captain Marvel, but to hear that Marvel's prepared a little tribute for its Cameo King is certainly touching. The legendary Marvel Comics publisher passed away after being rushed to the hospital from his house back in November last year and since then Stan the Man's fans and friends have been continually celebrating his legacy.
Not only did Lee contribute so much to the comic book industry, but he also played a huge part in the development of pop culture, popping up in all sorts of cameos in all sorts of comic book movies. Though Lee usually appeared in Marvel films, there were times he'd make a few appearances in films like Teen Titans Go! To The Movies, reminding everyone just how important he was to both sides of the comic book movie industry.
Before his passing, Lee managed to film a few scenes for his cameo roles in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. We definitely can't wait to see these scenes on the big screen.
Captain Marvel premieres on March 8, 2019.
