Captain Marvel Star Samuel L. Jackson Brought His Mace Windu Lightsaber To The Set

Captain Marvel and the Star Wars prequels might not share the same universe, but Nick Fury actor Samuel L. Jackson has had no qualms bringing his Mace Windu lightsaber on the set of Marvel's very first female-led standalone film.

Jackson's been pretty reminding everyone that he's happy to return to the Star Wars franchise and reprise his role as Mace Windu in a new film – so much so that he's been bringing his lightsaber with him while working on Captain Marvel.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly to help promote her debut as Marvel's strongest Avenger, Larson confessed to the publication that she even got to hold Mace Windu's lightsaber while she was on set of the Marvel movie.

"I got to hold his lightsaber! He brought it to me on set on May the 4th, and I cried. It was so cool. I wanna be a Jedi," the actress said.

Mace Windu was a fan-favorite character that appeared in the prequel trilogy, and while his time on the big screen was short-lived, the Jedi Master made a number of appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a popular Star Wars animated series created by George Lucas that aired on Cartoon Network featuring a galaxy three years before the prequels.

Right now Lucasfilm is exploring the franchise in so many different ways. Not only is the studio preparing a number of film trilogies outside the Skywalker Saga, but it's also developing a few Star Wars series for Disney+. There might be room for Mace Windu somewhere.

If not, Jackson still has a lot to do with Captain Marvel and the rest of the Avengers.

Captain Marvel premieres on March 8, 2019.
