Captain Marvel Star Brie Larson Tries To Prove Herself Worthy Of Mjolnir

Marvel fans might have to wait a few more months for the release of Captain Marvel next year, but Brie Larson's been pretty busy keeping the hype up for her upcoming debut as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Carol Danvers. Taking to social media, Larson just recently shared a video proving herself worthy of Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.

Posting on Twitter, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson decided to show off her muscle power by sharing a six-second loop of herself swinging around a 16-pound sledgehammer towards a large slab of concrete. Acting as if she were wielding Thor's hammer, Larson tries to prove herself worthy of Mjolnir. So far, fans have been loving the actress' display of power, going as far as naming her one of those worthy of Thor's hammer.

In the comics, characters like Loki, Jane Foster, Beta Ray Bill, Magneto and the Hulk have all proven themselves worthy. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the honor went to Vision. Why not Captain Marvel?

Unfortunately, while it would be exciting to see Larson lifting Mjolnir in Avengers 4, Captain Marvel may never really have the chance to prove herself "worthy" of the hammer in the film – after all, the Asgardian weapon was destroyed by Thor's sister Hela (Cate Blanchett) during the early arc of Thor: Ragnarok. Of course, Captain Marvel could go around lifting Mjolnir in her own standalone film, but then again, that doesn't seem very likely.

Captain Marvel is set for release March 8, 2019.
