Captain Marvel Star Brie Larson On How Life Has Changed After Joining MCU

Brie Larson might not be working on her Captain Marvel sequel just yet, but the Marvel star's been preoccupying herself the past few days, launching a brand new YouTube channel and appearing on the latest episode of Hot Ones.

Braving the hot sauce lineup while taking questions, Larson was asked about by the show's host Sean Evans about an old interview where she discussed the desire to protect her anonymity as an actress. According to the Marvel star, that kind of attitude existed before she became the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Captain Marvel.

Things have changed since she's become Carol Danvers – though she does admit that she knew what she was getting into when she agreed to take on the role.

"I would imagine that whenever I did that article like I wasn't Captain Marvel," Larson told Evans in the Hot Ones episode. "It was like, there was a little bit more leeway between what it was that I was doing and I made the decision to be Captain Marvel and I knew what came with that and so, it's been a really beautiful experience actually."

"I would imagine when I did that article if there had ever been a paparazzi photo it would've left me in a full-on panic attack because it felt so jarring and scary and exposing and now, like, honestly if I see a paparazzi I'm like 'hi' and they're like 'hi Brie'."

Larson admits that she realizes that she's been trying too hard to preserve herself and that she's been a little bit too hard on herself. We're hoping that the actress finally adjusts to her life as Captain Marvel once she begins work on the next Captain Marvel movie.

We wouldn't want a repeat of the defensive Brie Larson that we got to see during the promotional campaign of her first standalone film.

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to begin when Black Widow premieres on November 6, 2020.
