LEGO has been notorious for leaking info about a film before the studio officially releases anything, and they've once again delivered with a leak for the Captain Marvel movie. This time, we have a scene with Carol Danvers and Nick Fury, plus Carol's pet ‘cat' Goose.
In the comics, Carol also had a cat, but it was named ‘Chewie' as in Chewbacca from Star Wars. Chewie in the comics is actually a Flerken, a species of alien capable of storing a massive amount of things inside itself. Here though, it looks like ‘Goose' is going to be just a regular cat.
Interestingly enough, some think that the name Goose is actually a reference to Top Gun, seeing that Carol also has a history as a pilot. In TG, Goose was the former partner of Tom Cruise's Maverick, and he died during the events of the movie. It's also worth noting that Goose had a wife named Carol as well.
While I imagine that some will be bummed that Danvers won't have her signature pet in the film, I'm guessing the movie is going to build up to it in some way. Then again, the character is obscure enough that it won't cause a massive outcry with the fandom. Heck, they made it so that Stark was the one who created Ultron and not Hank Pym, and a lot of people just let that slide.

Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
