Captain Marvel: A Look at Young Nick Fury

Nick Fury was absent for most of Avengers: Infinity War, but he'll have a more prominent presence in next year's Captain Marvel. Samuel L. Jackson will be digitally de-aged in the role, and we have our first look at young Nick Fury thanks to Entertainment Weekly.

As per EW, Fury here is just a lowly desk jockey at SHIELD, but set photos have confirmed that he'll have a personal interaction with Carol Danvers. Fury is also setting a full set of healthy eyes in this film, and I have no doubt that we're going to see how he loses the left one by the time the credits start to roll.

What's interesting is, Jackson will be completely de-aged for the entire film, which is a first for any film. I'll admit, I was expecting Jackson to look more like Jules from Pulp Fiction, but I'm fine with how they made him look in this movie.

Besides Jackson, Clark Gregg will also be making a return as Agent Phil Coulson. We don't know for how much of the movie Coulson will be in, but I imagine that he'll also be a desk jockey who is already good friends with Fury before he becomes the head of SHIELD.

A lot of hype is starting to build around Captain Marvel, and we should expect a full trailer to come out before the year ends. After that, we can look forward to the reveal of the official title of Avengers 4.

Catch Captain Marvel in theaters March 8, 2019.
