Captain America: The Winter Soldier Star is Confident About MCU Return

Georges St-Pierre first debuted as Batroc in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and contested Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in an intense battle at the beginning of the film. Considering that this is the villain's first appearance, he already had proven himself by impressively giving Captain America a very challenging brawl. Although Batroc lost, he surprisingly returned in Disney+'s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier offered a brief backstory about Batroc. As the show progresses, it was later revealed that Batroc is the leader of a terrorist group called L.A.F., an ally of the Flag Smashers. The show's conclusion sees Batroc's unfortunate fate, but St-Pierre still believes that Batroc will come back.

MMA legend St-Pierre appears to be very confident that his MCU villainous character Batroc the Leaper will return. "He’s gonna come back 100 percent," he told Sherdog. "He always comes in and out of things, you know what I mean? He’s gonna come back with a vengeance next time for sure. He’s gonna bring his brigade and he’s gonna be angry."

To give St-Pierre the benefit of the doubt, he indeed appeared several times only as a side character, and knowing Marvel, this might be a subtle foreshadowing that there are much bigger plans ahead for Batroc. Aside from that, casting an MMA legend like St-Pierre in the role is a flawless decision of Marvel Studios, and they would gladly keep the actor for the long run.

Although Disney+'s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier saw Batroc shot by Sharon Carter, it didn't fully disclose whether the villain is as good as dead. If not, fans would undoubtedly love to see Batroc return in Anthony Mackie's upcoming Captain America 4.

Nevertheless, St-Pierre's comment solidifies that fans should expect Batroc's return in the MCU, especially now that several upcoming projects could include the villain, including the recently announced Thunderbolts.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Falcon and The Winter Soldier are available to stream on Disney+.
