Chris Evans has been relieved of his duties as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's star-spangled hero Captain America and for his next project, Evans will be taking the action to space. In case you weren't aware, he'll be bringing the Buzz Lightyear character (no, not the Toy Story version) to life in an upcoming Pixar project titled Lightyear.

It was announced during Disney's 2020 Investor Day that Evans will be voicing the space hero the iconic Buzz Lightyear toy was based on. We still don't know much about the project other than the fact that it'll be entirely computer-generated so for all of you wishing they'd see Cap in a spacesuit, I don't think that'll ever happen.

However, a new image from digital artist ApexForm is making the rounds all over the internet and it imagines what Evans would look like as a live-action version of the Toy Story character and it's pretty darn cool. Sure, he's wearing the toy's actual spacesuit as opposed to his real-life outfit but it still works. Check it out here:

This new project may come as a shock to the majority of fans considering a lot of them believe that they don't need to know about Buzz's true origins but hey, I think this one should be interesting. It also leaves the door wide open for other Toy Story characters to have their own spinoff flicks but of course, that would depend on Lightyear's success. Imagine a film centered on Woody's escapades as a human being? That would be hella neat.

Lightyear hits cinemas in 2022.
