Captain America (Chris Evans) might have a lot of major moments in Avengers: Infinity War, but it turns out that Marvel's first Avenger didn't have that much of an opportunity to talk in the film. However, now that Avengers: Endgame is making its way to cinemas next month, fans expect Steve to get a bigger spotlight in the film – and longer lines too. Using comparative analysis, some fans speculate that Captain America will have more speaking parts in the second and final installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie.
Yesterday, a Marvel fan decided to take to the Marvel Studios subreddit to share some of the findings he's dug up while observing Cap in Infinity War and in the trailer for Endgame. According to the Redditor, in the full trailer for Endgame, Cap spoke more than 50% of the dialogue that he had in Infinity War.
In Infinity War, Captain America only has 25 lines with a total of 145 words. But in the trailers for Endgame, Cap has nine speaking lines, with 81 words.
"That's 16 more words, which is 97 total. So 67%," the Redditor explained. "As always, this does not account how much weight is given to his smoldering looks and glorious hair. Endgame looks to have the edge on both."
This barely comes as a surprise. Not only does Endgame feature fewer characters than Infinity War, but it's also set to focus on the original six Avengers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, Endgame is supposed to serve as the culmination of the MCU.
Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
