Avengers: Endgame Runtime Possibly Revealed To Be As Lengthy As LOTR Return Of The King

There have been a lot of speculations about just how long Avengers: Endgame will be considering that it's the last Phase 4 film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interestingly, a new report suggests that the highly anticipated flick will be just as lengthy as the epic Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

According to We Got This Covered, Anton Volkov of TrailerTracks has pointed out that Endgame could be 182 minutes long. That's just a little over three hours and about 30 minutes shorter than Peter Jackson's third LOTR film (not the extended version). However, it would also make Endgame the lengthiest MCU movie so far.

This should probably explain why the Russo brothers had joked about putting an intermission in Endgame just so the audiences can scamper for a quick bathroom break. For now, Volkov has deleted his tweet stating that Disney hasn't confirmed anything just yet.

So is Endgame truly going to be as long as we are all expecting it to be? Although it might not reach LOTR proportions, it would certainly make sense for the fourth Avengers movie to have a lengthy running time. Let's just hope that each minute will be truly worth it and perhaps remember to go on a bathroom break before settling down in the theater.

The synopsis for Endgame reads as follows:

"The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios' grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame."

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26.
