They may be allies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as members of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Tom Holland have been embroiled in a years-long "feud" off-camera and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars have made it clear on multiple occasions that they just couldn't stand the Spider-Man actor. But before you guys worry, it's just a running joke in the franchise and they're all pretty much on the same page.
A lot of fans are delighted by their hilarious back-and-forth feud which can be considered as one of the best running gags in all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but now that Mackie is moving on to bigger and grander things as Captain America, the actor seems to be waving the white flag and wants to put an end to their beef.
Taking to social media, the official successor to Steve Rogers' star-spangled mantle posted a new behind-the-scenes clip of him during the filming of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's finale episode. In a tweet, Mackie hilariously captioned: "Pulling up to #TOMHOLLAND house like... #Spideybuddy" Check out the wacky clip here:
In case you weren't aware, Holland once harshly roasted Mackie during a comic convention panel for not having his own solo Falcon movie. Several years later, not only is Sam Wilson the new Cap but he's also set to headline his own film as Captain America.
It would be a shame if their off-screen feud ended because I've always enjoyed seeing them roast the hell out of each other but I guess all parties involved are ready to bury the hatchet. Anyway, if you may recall, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes still have a score to settle with Peter Parker after the duo was embarrassed by the wallcrawler in Captain America: Civil War. I wouldn't mind seeing their little "feud" carry over to the franchise. That would be fun.
Meanwhile, the finale episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming Disney+.
