Prince Harry moved into the U.S. with his wife, Meghan Markle, after stepping down from their senior royal roles in 2020. However, after revealing his illegal drug use in his memoir, Spare, is there a chance for him to be deported?

Immigration experts warn that Prince Harry can be denied entry to the U.S. as he puts his visa at risk after detailing that he used cocaine, smoked cannabis, and consumed hallucinogenic mushrooms.

U.S. Rules’ in Visa Applications

According to Meaww, using illegal drugs often led to visa denials for applicants in the past. However, U.S. authorities suggest that entry into the country is given on a “case-by-case basis.”

However, it’s not known if the Duke of Sussex disclosed his drug use when he applied for his visa. So with his drug use revelation, the immigration experts warn that he just risked having his visa cancelled if he lied about his past.

Prince Harry Reveals Use of Illegal Drugs

In Spare, Meghan’s husband revealed his first take of cocaine was on a shooting weekend when he was 17. He even admitted to doing “a few more lines” on other occasions.

He also took hallucinogenic mushrooms during a celebrity-filled event in California and smoked cannabis after having his first date with his now-wife.

The State Department officials refused to answer questions if Prince Harry’s drug use admission may “cause difficulties” with his immigration status.

The Visa Prince Harry May Hold

It’s not known what type of U.S. visa Prince Harry holds. Analysts believe he may have a spousal visa sponsored by his American wife or an O-1 visa, given to people with “extraordinary ability.”

If he holds the latter, which is often given to celebrities and athletes, he has to renew it every after three years.
