The Summer 23 season may not technically be over yet, but it’s late enough that shows like Bungou Stray Dogs have ended their new seasons. Thankfully, fans were treated to some good news as Bungou Stray Dogs confirmed that the anime will continue after Season 5.
This is great news, especially considering how the show’s eleventh episode ended. It would be a shame if the anime was not renewed after that.
Then again, while Bungou Stray Dogs isn’t the most talked-about show of the season, it still has a dedicated fanbase that dates back to its initial seasons.
Bungou Stray Dogs Season 5 Ends on a Big Cliffhanger
Bones is a popular anime studio that is perhaps best known for working on My Hero Academia, the now long-running battle shonen. Aside from this, Bones also has Bungou Stray Dogs as one of its notable releases.
The anime began in April 2016 with its first season, which was soon followed by Season 2 just a few months later. Fans had to wait a while for Season 3 though, as it was released in 2019.
After this, there was an over three-year wait for the fourth season as it only aired in Winter 23. Season 5 followed shortly after as it premiered in July.
Season 5 finally finished yesterday, and its eleventh and final episode ended on a major cliffhanger. This may not be an issue for readers of the manga, but it’d be a shame if the show ended here for anime-only viewers.
Thankfully, the show ended with the words “to be continued,” which implied a continuation. To erase any doubt, an official announcement about a continuation was made.

Bungou Stray Dogs Staff Confirms Anime Will Continue After Season 5
The announcement was made via the show’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. It’s mentioned in the recent post that the Bungou Stray Dogs anime is “not finished,” which confirms that the anime will continue in some form.
Along with this confirmation is a special illustration that was released to thank fans who have continued supporting the show.
There’s currently no word on what form the anime’s continuation will take. Many fans believe that the show will continue with Bungou Stray Dogs Season 6.
If it does get a new season, it’s anyone’s guess at this point on when it will be released. After all, the show’s previous seasons don’t exactly have a consistent release schedule.
