After seeing BTS Jungkook has changed his Instagram handle from a unique one to a much simpler name, fans are left brokenhearted. Though no one knows the reason for it, many feel saddened by the sudden change.

Jungkook used the Instagram username @abcdefghi__lmnopqrstuvwxyz, purposely removing JK as part of his name. However, this handle is now gone and replaced with a simple @jungkook.97.

The Change of Jungkook’s Username

With the lengthy username, using almost all of the letters in the alphabet, fans started to name their idol the “alphabet guy.” Hence, now that it has been removed, they can’t help but feel sad that his name now looks very normal.

“I’m a little sad. The other one was so cute,” one fan said, via AllKpop. They also described his old Instagram name as unique and creative.

Some also can’t help but question themselves if they have made fun of him too much, which pushes him to change his username. With that said, some mourn the loss of the Abc guy, saying he will be missed.

So looking at the brighter side, Jungkook’s username is much easier to recognize and remember. It simply includes his name and the last two digits of his birth year.

They also see this as the return of “Jeon Jungkook,” in which Jeom means period in Korean.

Jungkook’s Record-Breaking Instagram Account

Eight years after their debut, BTS finally launched their respective Instagram accounts in December 2021. As expected, a legion of fans flocked to the site and started to follow their favorite idols.

Hence, each member sets new records. As of this writing, Jungkook now has 34.4 million followers. Since then, he has been actively updating his followers with his photos and other activities.

BTS’s Instagram debut coincided with Big Hit Music’s announcement of their “extended period of rest,” per Hindustan Times.

The statement read,

“This period of rest will provide the members of BTS, who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy. It will also be the first time for them since their debut to spend the holiday season with their families.”

Jungkook, Rest of BTS Return to Work

Anyhow, that break is over and BTS is officially back at work. In fact, they already held their first in-person concert in Seoul after almost two years.

Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook once again gave it their all when they returned on stage.
